Saxifraga stolonifera 'Kinki Purple'

A hardy form of the species collected by Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones in the mountains of the Kinki Peninsula, Honshu, Japan. Purple tinged leaves and large white flowers in autumn. Reasonably easy in a shady place, there are a number of recent selections of the species coming into cultivation but they are not yet established in cultivation and need some help to be spread around. Saxifraga stolonifera is not always hardy in a severe winter so it is particularly important to establish them in Cornish gardens where they will be most secure.
